David & Nicola Bass

David Nicola Bass (Pastors)
David was born in the Vale of Belvoir in Leicestershire and went to school in Melton Mowbray where he met Nicola. He never attended church as a child and only after meeting Nicola at the age of 17 did he venture into a church!
Not convinced David went of to University in Newcastle where God had a plan to catch his attention. On the first day at Freemans Halls of Residence he found not one, not two, no not even three but four Bibles in his room! considering the size of the rooms it was clearly pretty amazing, he left his room a little shocked and bumped into a girl who was inviting new students to a talk on 'The Way, The Truth and The Life' He went along and a few weeks later he gave his life to Jesus. Little did he know what Jesus had in store for him.
Nicola was born in Luton (we don't hold that against her!) where she gave her life to Jesus at the age of 9. She moved to Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire with her family when she was 14. and met David at school in an A'level biology class. They spent the next two years becoming close friends. Nicola loves music and plays both the flute and piano. After leaving school Nicola studied for a degree in music at the University of London followed by a PGCE in secondary music at Durham.
David studied for a degree in Applied Biology and after marrying Nicola in 1998 stayed on at Uni to complete a PhD in Air Pollution. He then followed in Nicola's footsteps by becoming a secondary science teacher.
It was from the time they got married that God started speaking to them about church and after a move to Nottingham to be part of Trent Vineyard they moved back to the North East to start Tyneside Vineyard in Sept 2006. If you would like to read more about their story then click on the links below.
